Meet Our Team
Jonathan Hardy • DMD, ABGD, FAGD
My professional career in dentistry started 17 years ago at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. I furthered my education by completing a 2 year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency. Significant achievements in my career include when I attained Board Certification by the American Board of General Dentistry. Currently, only 1 percent of general dentists have achieved this prestigious Board Certification status. Another significant achievement was attaining Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry. Only 24 dentists in the Commonwealth have attained this professional distinction and I am proud to be counted among them. I served 6 years in the United States Army as a dental officer and in 2014 I left the Army after I received promotion to Major and returned to civilian life as owner of Somerset Family Dentistry. Since that time our office has continued to expand the range of clinical services offered and are proud to deliver some of the most innovative and cutting edge dental treatment available.
My wife, Elisabeth, and I have been married 15 years and we are blessed with 4 beautiful children, Catherine, James, Claire, and Rachel. Elisabeth graduated from the University of Kentucky and worked as a physician assistant and is currently Admissions coordinator for Somerset Christian School. On weekends you can find us at cross country meets, soccer games, or a host of other extracurricular activities.

april - Financial coordinator
April has been with Somerset Family Dentistry for the past year and a half. Her pleasant demeanor and experience in finance make her an amazing resource to help patients navigate dental insurance plans. April has a degree from BCTC in medical billing.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family and is busy raising her 2 children.
Nicole- Receptionist
Nicole is often the first person to greet you when you arrive or the first person you will hear over the phone. She is gregarious and will make you feel right at home from the start. She also takes on many of the jobs of office manager and is quickly becoming another great resource to help you navigate insurance questions and other front office issues.
In her spare time you can find Nicole taking care of any stray animal she meets. Nicole’s empathy and kind heart endear her to anyone she meets.
Holly -Office Manager
Holly was born in Somerset and graduated from Pulaski Co. High School. She then graduated from the Central KY Technical College Assisting Program in 2004 before joining our team at Somerset Family Dentistry. In the spring of 2005, she completed the expanded duty assisting program at UK. Holly is a lifetime member of the American Association of Dental Office Management and is on track to become a Fellow in this prestigious organization.
Brittany - Expanded duty Dental Assistant
Brittany graduated from the Bluegrass Technical and Community College integrated assisting program in 2013. With 2 years of experience in the dental field, she excitedly joined Somerset Family Dentistry in April 2015 . She states that the Somerset Family Dentistry team is more like family than co-workers. Her goal is to give excellent patient care with her patient's comfort and well-being in mind.
Meghan - Registered Dental Hygienist
Meghan joined our dental team in September 1999 as a registered dental hygienist. She received her degree from Lexington Community College in 1998. Meghan enjoys teaching and helping patients with all their dental needs.

ashley - Registered dental hygienist
Ashley has over 15 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist and will put you at ease immediately. Her demeanor is quiet, but she has keen questions and is able to help patients select treatment best suited for them. An interesting fact about Ashley: she has an identical twin that is also a dental hygienist!
When she is not at the office Ashley clocks in at her 2nd full-time job (raising 2 active kids and doing all the accompanying work that goes with it!)
